25．死や絶望の淵（ふち）に直面した時

When facing the abyss of death or despair

①詩篇 23:4

たとい、死の陰（かげ）の谷を歩むとも、

私は災（わざわ）いを恐れません。

あなたが私と共におられるからです。

あなたの鞭（むち）とあなたの杖は私を慰（なぐさ）めます。

心を騒がせてはいけない。神を信じ、また私を信じなさい。

 

私の父の家には住まいがたくさんある。もしなければ、私はそう言っておいたであろう。

 

〔私は〕あなたがたのために場所を用意しに行くのだ。行ってあなたがたのために場所を用意したら、〔再び〕戻って来て、あなたがたを私のもとに迎える。こうして、私のいる所に、あなたがたもいることになる。私がどこへ行くのか、その道をあなたがたは知っている。

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going.”

27．愛の本質を知りたい時

When you want to know the essence of love
①ヨハネ 13：34～35
あなたがたに新しい掟（おきて）を与える。互いに愛し合いなさい。私があなたがたを愛したように、あなたがたも互いに愛し合いなさい。

 

互いに愛し合うならば、それによってあなたがたが私の弟子であることを、皆が知るであろう。

John 13.34-35
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

②Ⅰコリント 13：1～13
たとえ、人々の異言（いげん）、天使たちの異言を語ろうとも、愛がなければ、私は騒がしいどら、やかましいシンバル。

 

たとえ私が、預言（よげん）する力を持ち、あらゆる秘義（ひぎ）とあらゆる知識に通じていても、また、山を移すほどの信仰を持っていても、愛がなければ、無に等しい。

 

また、全財産を人に分け与えても、焼かれるためにわが身を引き渡しても、愛がなければ、私には何の益もない。

愛は忍耐強い。愛は情け深い。妬（ねた）まない。愛は自慢せず、高ぶらない。礼を失せず、自分の利益を求めず、怒らず、悪をたくらまない。不正を喜ばず、真理を共に喜ぶ。すべてを忍び、すべてを信じ、すべてを望み、すべてに耐える。

愛は決して滅びません。しかし、預言は廃（すた）れ、異言はやみ、知識も廃れます。私たちの知識は一部分であり、預言も一部分だからです。

 

完全なものが来たときには、部分的なものは廃れます。幼子だったとき、私は幼子のように話し、幼子のように思い、幼子のように考えていました。〔しかし、〕大人になったとき、幼子のような在り方はやめました。

 

私たちは、今は、鏡におぼろに映ったものを見ていますが、だがその時には、顔と顔とを合わせて〔はっきり〕見ることになります。私は、今は一部分しか知りませんが、その時には、私が神にはっきり知られているように、〔私も〕はっきり知ることになります。

 

それゆえ、信仰と、希望と、愛、この三つは、いつまでも残ります。その中で最も大いなるものは、愛です。

1 Corinthians 13.1-13
If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

 

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way;it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

 

Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.

 

And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

私たちが神の子と呼ばれるために、御父（おんちち）がどれほどの愛を私たちにお与えくださったか、考えてみなさい。事実、私たちは神の子どもなのです。

28．尊敬を表したい時

あなた自身、良い行いの模範となりなさい。教える際には、高潔で品位を保ち〔なさい。〕

②ヘブライ 12：28
このように、私たちは揺るがされ〔ることの〕ない御国（みくに）を受けているのですから、感謝しましょう。感謝しつつ、畏（おそ）れ敬いながら、神に喜ばれるように仕えていきましょう。
